What We Do

We offer a different way to see Greater Canterbury and other South Island sites. You will have a guide and a vehicle exclusively for you and the people in your group, without the crowded and slow motioned groups of the regular tour vehicles. The great advantage of reaching out to places that you simply cannot see in a larger tour group. With a private tour you will have the chance to design your own schedule, or choose one of our suggested itineraries, stopping at the places that you really want to see and skip those you don’t really care for, without having to be stuck in a fixed itinerary.

Whether you build your own tour or choose one of our itineraries, where stops and routes are designed to be covered in the time frame that is posted, you should know that once an itinerary is agreed there won’t be any extra charges if your tour goes slightly longer due to traffic conditions, where all the highlights in your tour should be covered. If you decide to stay longer than suggested by your guide at one of the highlight stops without dropping another stop, extra charges may apply. You must advise your guide if you to intend to extend the length of your tour, on a particular day.

Keep in mind that the cost of your private tour is estimated on an hourly basis, so the more hours you get the more you can see. Where possible, we will always work around your time and budget, so you get the most out of your tour. At Ascot Tours we aim to be as flexible as possible and willing to work around your needs.

As Ascot Tailored Tours Limited is licensed by the New Zealand Transport Agency, your guide must comply with the transport regulations by not exceeding 13 hours of work in any one day.
